商社の求める外国語ができる社員は、今や、英語よりも中国語がトップ？

 総合商社の伊藤忠は、中国語ができる社員が、目標の1,000人を超えたことを祝うパーテイを開いた。
 中国との活発な取引を進める同社は、「中国語ができる社員をこんなに多くいる商社は他にないだろう」と、胸をはる。
 目標達成に向け、2015年度から会社負担で社員の中国語の語学教育に取り組んできた。
 今や、その数、1，430人で、社員総数の約１/3で、総合職の社員はそのうち3分の一。
 目標達成を祝うパーテイは衛星放送で、日本と中国同時に行われたとか、、。
・・・・・・・総合商社は、中国語で勝者に！

With its extensive business reach in China, Itochu Corp. likes to boast that it probably has more employees able to converse in Chinese than any other company in Japan.

 The general trading company decided it needed more Chinese speakers and bolstered a language training program from fiscal 2015 to achieve the goal. It has paid all lesson fees and held related seminars.
 Itochu says that 1,043 employees are now proficient in the language.
